END of the MESO program

Dear Partners and Beneficiaries of the MESO programme,

After 7 years of successful work, the MESO programme of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is coming to an end. We have the pleasure to provide you with a brochure wrapping up all the MESO programme's activities and outcomes. Please go to: http://www.meso-platform.org/spec/meso/download/brochure/new.pdf /> The SDC has decided not to pursue the MESO programme even if this latter has fulfilled adequately its objectives. This decision results purely from the reorganization of SDC's activities in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa).The MESO programme, through capacity building in environmental economics and the use of this discipline for decision-making, has proven the innovative and pioneer attitude of the SDC. Indeed, such initiatives remain rare and we hope that the MESO programme has revealed its utility in this respect.
We hope now to continue forward by developing new basis for the programme. The evaluation of the MESO programme as well as the enquiries received confirm that further collaborations are needed in order to set the principles of environmental economics in the minds and to develop a range of applications by integrating new tools and disciplines as well as new partners.
Ecosys and sba are currently working with this intention and call upon your support, energy and ideas in this respect.
We hope that such news will strengthen even more your motivation and that you are looking for pursuing our outstanding collaboration in the near future.
